Position Summary
The retail sales representative is responsible for promoting pharmacy products and services to referral sources so that pharmacy goals for business growth are achieved. Therapies of focus would entail dermatology, urology, podiatry, neurology, women’s health, behavioral health, anti-aging and newly expanded therapeutic categories. Sales representatives are the first line of contact with all new customers and act as company ambassadors for our providers. Sales representatives establish and maintain long-term business relationships with new and current customer base.
Essential Functions
- Close and grow sales through professional communication with existing and potential clients.
- Works with the company’s Inside sales team to research, identify, and target new business in the retail space to create new growth opportunities.
- Collaborate and Coordinates with the pharmacy operations team and account management to ensure continuity of customer engagement from sales to account manager to operations.
- Manage and interpret customer requirements – speaking with clients to understand, anticipate and meet their needs.
- Communicate sales or service opportunities and customer concerns or suggestions.
- Identify and resolve client concerns; recommending a course of action to alleviate these concerns in the future in conjunction with pharmacy staff.
- Expand market awareness of our products and our industry experience by communicating features and benefits of our products and services effectively.
- Work with the marketing team to brainstorm and target new audiences and providers.
- Uses all technology, communication, routing, and CRM tools to manage and maintain records of customer communications and contact information as required by company procedures 10. Making technical presentations, webinars as needed.
- Attending and participating in trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events.
- Working knowledge of the design tools and price calculations.
- Research market requirements and market data.
- Maintain knowledge of both company and competitor products and identify and report intelligence on competitor pricing or marketing strategies.
- Submit a variety of sales status reports as required, including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals.
- Submit quarterly customer visit plans, schedule client meetings and action plans for follow-up.
- Demonstrates a commitment to the Company Culture and Core Competencies.
- Be willing to learn additional niche therapies to expand territory in high growth and high velocity work environments.
- Must submit accurate and timely monthly expense report in conformance to policies outlined by the company.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Professional Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of Field-based Sales Experience calling on prescribers/clinics to generate patient/prescription referrals. Experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare sales preferred. Self-motivated with excellent time management skills. Strong people and communication skills, verbal, written, email – experience creating presentations and presenting one on one or small groups. High attention to detail and organization is a must. Ability to adhere to deadlines and work under pressure.
- Licenses/Certifications: a. Valid Driver ‘s License; Current and active vehicle insurance policy
- Specialized Skills: Retail pharmacy experience; Certified Pharmacy Technician license and/or Pharmacist license a plus. Understanding of traditional medications and PBM billing/coverage concepts a plus.
- Experience selling to dermatology clinics.
- Understanding of EMR and e-prescribing f. Ability to upsell and cross-sell a must
- Experience working with CRM is a must
