Goodhealth launches global databank
Goodhealth Worldwide, a leading international health
insurance provider, has launched a databank, which
they hope will provide policyholders around the world
with up-to-the-minute medical information, including
details of selected hospitals and doctors. The web-based
facility was developed in conjunction with HTH Worldwide,
the US-based international healthcare specialist,
and gives policyholders password-protected access
to medical information around the world.
This includes 3,000 hospitals, clinics, doctors ad
consultants worldwide; full details of specialties
and personal information, such as where they earned
their medical degree; city profiles giving information
no the healthcare available in most major centers;
and translations of key drugs and medical phrases.
"This is a major development in our strategy of offering
local support to policyholders," said Stuart Leatherby,
technical and underwriting director of Goodhealth.
"The new web tools provide customers with exclusive
access to a mass of easily obtainable information,
which could be vital when making a claim, finding
local medical facilities or requiring a medical decision.
The databank will also support our local branches
in providing up-to-date, relevant information at all
times."
Goodhealth also believes that the database will assist
in the company's drive to expand their 'cashless'
claims settlement facility, where a guarantee of payment
to the hospital mean inpatient treatment is settled
directly.
Leatherby added: "Direct settlement works much more
effectively when the hospital is part of an agreed
provider network, or in this case, contracted by HTH.
We are confident the database will play its part in
helping us to give customers an even more professional
and hassle-free service."
