Biota sues Glaxo
Gyrus buys ACMI Medical devices maker, Gyrus, has bought
American Cystoscope Makers Inc (ACMI), a specialist in urological
and gynecological devices for $333 million, doubling its
size. Gyrus has said that the acquisition would increase
its product range in gynecology and urology, and give it
a platform to expand into general surgery. "It gives us
a portfolio of products that, together with out devices,
gives us an opportunity to enter the general surgery market,
which is a much bigger market," commented Brain Steer, executive
chairman of Gyrus.
